After a prolonged hiatus, and amidst many rumours of the group's demise, Zooloop was released onto an unprepared audience. After an album of covers (Oozak), and a flawed attempt at jazz (Jazzoo), the world was given the last thing they expected: a modern, original, carefully crafted masterpiece.
Zooloop brings the kazoo up-to-date; it is thrust into a digitally filtered world of beats and loops. With hip-hop sensibilities and a hint of electronica, the album shifts between brooding loops to pumping beats, all with the unmistakeable Oozak sound - nothing but kazoos and, more generically, mouth-music.
